Train advertisment
This is the Train Advertisment. This was created by Aaron Cogdell. He chose to do the advert in a train station because the poster fit to the scale. Also in the underground its not colourful so people would hopefully look at our poster because of the bright colours.
Dave- Website banners
This is the Website we thought would be most appropriate to but our product banners on. It was created by Aaron Cork and Sophie Carey (me). we all thought that this website would be suitable to our gum because 'dave' appeals to the older ages to our target aduience. Its also a popular Tv Channel

Flavour of Gum and Packets
These packets of Gum were created by Aaron Cork and sophie carey (me). We both added the flaour of the gum in the corner, and our Logo noticable in the bottom left.
Print Advert- Magazine
This poster was created by Sophie Carey(me). We purpously said 'chews' in stead of 'chose', because its iron (we are selling Gum). We also thought to make the good pair of teeth smiling to make it stand out more, and its like the product makes you feel good. We put in all types of people from people with braces and coloured people( to make the poster equal and fair)

swaits mind map----2a
initial colours i agree with our idea, to do different colours for differnt flavours.
target audience 13-30
I think we should change the name of our prouct. (not fresh)
what is their image?
This advert is trying to make the consumer aware of what they eat, however they over exaggerate the foods to make the advert funny and to make the product that more tastey and luxurious.
'your mouth's been through a lot. show it a good time' the message of this is if you eat obrit your mouth will forgive you for all the other foods it has eaten. Also by eating Orbit your mouth will be having a good time.
Colours?
In the Advert the teeth are white which proves that if you also have Orbit you will have teeth a white as theirs. Down at the bottom the writting is in orange, which is a tropical colour( the product is a tropical flavour ). The writting 'Good Time' is written in a differnt text to make sure you remember that bit of the sentence. The text that its written in relates to the words. The actual gum package is extremley colourful and noticable. By the sides of the product there is the fruite thats is the falour of the gum, this is really noticable because the fruits are colourful, aslo people will like seeing the fruit next to it because it will make the gum seem more healthy. Oranges and pink colours a fruity looking colours, psychologicly people will relate those colours a fruit.
Who is the audience?
For this image i think that they are trying to sell the gum to older people. I think this because young people dont really eat that type of food. However the food is just representing the horrible things people eat in the day, so the product is really for anyone ( that wants a fresher mouth ). The product is also for fun loving people, people that want a good time!
what is their image?
This image of this picture is that this new flavoured gum is so fruity and tropical, even tropical birds will want it, instead of the bird eating the fruit, it choses the gum. Orbit can be seen as a fruit, its being disguised as a fruit in this photo. clearly the gum is a tropicall fruit flavour and this is shown in a eye-catching way. This print product also makes it look playfull with a funny apporach.
Colours?
The background colour is a type of bamboo, which also tells us the type of place this woman is from. The fruit on the womens hat is purpously colourful, to enharnce the fruityness of the gum. the women is wearing quite nutrial colours, i think they have done this to make the other important things stand out more. They have also added flowers to her hat because it shows how tropical and pretty it is.
Who is the audience?
This type of advertising is for anyone. Its for people that like fruit or fruit tasting things. I think people aged 14-40 would like this product because the sweetness of the fruit will appeal to younger people, and the fruit, healthlyness will appeal to the older people.

Task 1 advert research
What is this Product?
A car. The VOLVO XC90
What are they advertising?
VOLVO-car
What are they telling us about the product?
I think this advert is trying to tell the views that with this car you can go off-road and have a big adventure, even if you are with your family.
Is there a message in the advert?
The message of this advert is showing how although the places you will go in this car, will be dangerous, it will handle any situation. It will still suite the city and anywhere you take it. I can see this because in the advertising photograph there is a rubber ducky. Rubber duckys are normally to do with safety, warm and comforting situations, like a bath. It also represents the child friendly-ness of the car. However the fact that they have chosen to put the rubber ducky in the cold, damp and dangerous place, but this doesn't mean that the ducky shouldn't be there. The message of this advert is no matter where you go or how dangerous it is, you will still feel safe and warm in this car.
Who is the Advert meant for?
This specific VOLVO car is mean for a Family. Middle ages mainly men getting to the age late 30's to early 50's
Do you think it reaches the correct target audiences?
i do think it reaches the right target audience because men in there late 30's and early 50's have either got or are starting a family. However they are still wanting to have an adventure.
What type of advert is it?
I think that this advert is very dramatic and surreal. I also thing this is a serious advert because its an important object that they are selling.
What do you think of the advert and do you think it works?
I think that this advert is very successful because they way in which they have advertised it is clever. Using a normal family household item and putting it in a vast area, gives the impression that this product will survive in these conditions.
What is this Product?
Nike-shoe/trainer/footwear
What are they advertising?
Nike are advertising a new type of shoe
What are they telling us about the product?
The way that Nike has advertised this product, tells us that it has been constructed by professionals and the product itself its a massive deal.
Is there a message in the advert?
The message of this advert is its constructed so well its will survive anything. It will be a strong and cool shoe to wear. The shoe had been built as if its a building making it safe, durable, high tech and supported. I can see this because in the photo there are many professional men working on this one shoe. This also tells us that a lot of work has gone into this product, and it wasn't just one man making it.
Who is the Advert meant for?
Men/boy teens. ages 17-28
Do you think it reaches the correct target audiences?
I think i does because boys that age go out and those shoes need to be sturdy. The shoe is also a Fashion trainer something that men those ages want to wear.
What type of advert is it?
This Advert is a serious and realistic advert, this is because looking at the photo you can tell its been worked on to be suitable for an all day shoe.
What do you think of the advert and do you think it works?
I like this advert because i think its clever how they have thought about using lots of little men to shoe the scale and hard work they have put into this shoe. I do think i work, because i proves its ability as a shoe. However i think they could have mad it a bit more colourful and eyecatching.

task 1 - magazines
How do the two magazines differ?
I think that although their magazines are aimed at women, they bother have completely different ways of advertising it. The 'Good Housekeeping' is clearly aimed at older mid 40's women. I know this because the women on the front 'Lorraine Kelly' is from a tv programme 'loose Women' which is aimed at older women. However 'marieclaire' has taken a more modern take, and is aiming to 18-35 years old. This magazine has used modern colour which are bland but make it stand out. But as the other one magazine the colours are feminine (pinks and purples), the colours still do stand out and also define that the magazine is meant to be read by women.
The puff/plugs on 'marieclaire' have numbers and are talking about 'wow factors toward fashion' .On the other hand, 'good house keeping magazine has puff/plugs talking about '20 new decorative ideas'.
This is the reason the two magazines are aimed at different women.
task 2 - Magazines
How do the two
magazines differ?
these two magazines are different in loads of ways because they are both trying to showing to different thinks/subjects to the reader. The 'Nuts' magazine has bright and lots of different colours making it stand out, which will catch young male attention. This magazine has puffs/plug saying 'Ultimate Stage Nights' which is a more immature side to a man. whereas 'GQ' is a formal and mature magazine. on this magazine it has smaller print suggesting there is more to read then to look at. it has a picture of a important, successful and sophisticated role model. I contrast with the 'Nuts' magazine has a picture of a barely clad model/actress. also in big print has the words 'Breast'. I think this magazine is aiming for younger men but older teenagers.
The Masthead in 'Nuts' is written in full and can clearly be seen. However the other magazine is such a well known brand it is actually obscured by the mail photo article. this magazine is trying to appeal to men in their 40s and above. It also only is needing one photo on the cover. But 'nuts' has more because it needs to be more approachable.

my hand drawn design of my bag
For this unit i will be working on Photoshop. Using Photoshop will allow me to use tool that can help specific part of my bag. E.g. cutting out certain parts of the picture and adding it to a different place.
I will be printing the bag on card and It will also be using a laser colour printer, to make the full effect of making a bag.
I have chosen 'Kings Of Leon' because they are in the top 100 HMV artists. Also they are a really well known band.

HMV bag- Evaluation
The reason i have chosen 'Kings of Leon' is because they are extremely famous and well known. Personally they are one of my favourite bands. Although other bands on the top 100 are also famous i because that this band is much more current and will help promote HMV more. I know that 'kings Of Leon' do a lot of festivals such as:
Glastonbury
Isle Of White
Because these festivals are very popular and massive music fans attend these, if Kings Of Leon Represented HMV, then people would recognise the band, which would then link to HMV.
Ive also chosen this band because they are quite different and individual, which is now much more prefered. This album consists songs like:
Pryo
Radioactive
back down south
This album was rated, 25th on the list of the 50 best albums of 2010, and sold 6.5 million copies worldwide.

For this topic i chose to not just do One album, so i tried to add as many current 'Kings Of Leon' albums as possible. With this idea in mind, i then came up with the idea to do a camouflage.

Evaluation
Midwinter Murders evaluation
I
edited my crime drama spoof trailer. I in-ported the clips from the camera to the computer, re-named the clips , so when imported i could identify the right clip. I then put
them on the editing bar, edited the clips, added music, added titles, exported
the trailer. For this task i used these tools;
We all
edited are own trailer and we all helped each other with parts. I think as a group we got on really well, and as much as we could we tried to listen to peoples ideas! during the editing we all contributed in a way to help the others. Maybe if they didn't know what to do someone would take over and clean it up. I think that we were all really good at coming up with quite iron/funny titles to go into the trailer.
Yes, i really love my trailer i think the length of it is really good. However i think i could have made the trailer more humerus because it a spoof program. Although i like my trailer looking back on it i agree that i could have edited it with more prepossession. I should have watched more trailers or in my opinion i should have watched more 'A touch of cloth' episodes to make my trailer seem, serious but humerous. i know that i took a lot of time on this trailer and i pleased with the out come. However next time i would take my time and makes sure that i have the right angles or clips and just overall pay more attention to the detail. I would also pay more attention to the task e.g crime/spoof.

Evaluation of spoof trailer
Evaluation
Individually write an evaluation

·
The strengths and weaknesses of your project
The strengths while we were creating the film clips was that before hand we had seen a few crime
dramas and spoofs to help us create or add good ideas to our Spoof crime drama. Also i think as another strength to this task, was my acting, i am not camera shy and i like to perform. I am quite good at editing but it took a while for me to get used to the program. As a group i think we worked really hard and well together. Because we worked so well together and listened this helped a lot with this topic. its made tasks that we found more boring, go quicker and tasks had been completed in the right amounted time needed.
The weaknesses while making the film clips was our timing. We didn't have a very good time table for when we had to film or be done with something! Also there was the smallest of idea changes which resulted into arguments because people felt disappointed that there idea may not have been heard. Although we all did individual video trailers, This made it hard for people to try help and understand their own story line. From this i try working more as a collective team in the future and only do one editing object, so then we can put all editing skills, ideas and composing one would help individuals out.

-The team work of your team throughout the process
-Are you happy with your trailer?
Does it meet the target audience you planned it for?
Yes the
trailer meets are target audience, are target audience is teenagers to adults! I think when we were filming the clips, everyone was thinking would adult and teenagers like this and find it funny. I know that this type of trailer would be more to the teenager audiences because my past research shows that teens like stupid humour. whereas our trailer is also aimed at adults, which broadens our watching view. I think that adults would also understand and still have a laugh at our crime drama as much as adults like the now a days 'A touch of cloth'.
·
Do you think its an original idea?
Do you think its an original idea?
Yes
although we have taken advice from the crime dramas and spoofs 'a touch of cloth'. we still obviously had original ideas. There is also a lot of serious crime dramas, and also a lot of spoofs, but i feel our trailer had different humour.
·
How was it received by the class? Do you agree with their feedback?
How was it received by the class? Do you agree with their feedback?
all of the class enjoyed it however, some say the length of it was to long. I don't agree that it was to long maybe some of the clips that were shown we not cut in the right place which made it seem really long!
